Jonsi Prepares Live Album, DVD

Shot at London rehearsals

Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi is preparing to release a live DVD and album recorded at a London dress rehearsal.

It’s been a strange old year for Jonsi. Fresh from his Riceboy Sleeps project, the Icelandic singer was due to reconvene with Sigur Ros in order to work on their first new material in two years.

However the band decided to take time off, preferring to focus on their families. Deciding to head into the studio himself, Jonsi re-emerged with a solo album which ranks among his finest achievements to date.

‘Go’ was a wonderful example of his songwriting, with Jonsi backed by some old friends. Released to widespread acclaim, the singer has toured across the globe, including an extensive trip to North America and a selection of British dates.

Now the Sigur Ros frontman is planning to release a live album. Jonsi was caught in action during the dress rehearsals for the ‘Go’ tour earlier this year, leading his band through a number of tracks from the album.

The tour was highly theatrical, with all band members required to wear extensive costumes. Alongside a full concert from the group, the forthcoming ‘Go Live’ film also features new interviews and unheard material.

A raft of behind the scenes footage demonstrates how the tour was put together, with the accompanying CD features songs recorded across the British tour.
