Birmingham fight pop merchants Johnny Foreigner have recorded a video for forthcoming single ‘DJs Get Doubts’ but unfortunately it is only available to view on a Nintendo DS, it has been announced.
Johnny Foreigner have become cult favourites with their energetic live shows and DIY ethics. Debut album ‘Waited Up Til It Was Light’ was one of the best home grown debuts the British indie scene could offer last year, a thrilling combination of off kilter rock and self-effacing lyrics.
The band have recorded a typically unusual video for forthcoming single ‘DJs Have Doubts’ but they appear to have hit a snag as frontman Alexei Berrow explained in a Myspace message:
“After I made it I then had a Hard Drive Disaster. So if anyone wants a copy, message us and I’ll email it you.
Here’s the catch.
The sole surviving format is a .DPG file. which is what you use to watch video on yr DS using an r4 card or TTDS or whatever. So, if like me, yr obsessed with using yr DS as a media player AND like Johnny Foreigner, you get to see the video. Sorry, restofworld.”
Johnny Foreigner plan to release ‘DJs Get Doubts’ in Spring 2009.
