Johnny Foreigner Switch Labels

New EP due shortly

Johnny Foreigner have switched labels, confirming a brand new six track EP and a British tour.

Johnny Foreigner have a special place in our hearts. A thrilling live act, the Midlands trio have built up a devoted cult following the old fashioned way, touring heavily across the country and beyond.

After two critically acclaimed albums, Johnny Foreigner have decided to switch labels. Publishing a new blog the trio explained that they have swapped Best Before for their new home at Alcopop! Records.

A statement explains the situation thus:

“we’re really proud to say, our next couple of records will be released with alcopop. it’s pretty rare to get a label that’s genuinely excited by the increased need for creative and fun ways to sell records, and we’re flattered that the one that has the bands we like also likes us. I heard that Jack who runs it won’t deal with bands who don’t want control over their artwork, and that he doesn’t want to do a standard cd release ever again. We’ve found a pretty suitable home…”

Continuing, Johnny Foreigner explained that they have recorded a six track EP. Tentatively titled ‘There When You Need It’ the collection will be extremely varied, with the trio warning that “one of them is probably the loudest we’ve ever been.”

Available shortly on 12 inch and digital formats, the band have recorded a cover of the Sparklehorse track ‘The Most Beautiful Widow’. Given a typically energetic treatment, you can grab it HERE.

Meanwhile, the trio have confirmed a forthcoming tour. Johnny Foreigner are set to team up with Stagecoach for the ten date jaunt, with tickets for the shows due to go on sale soon.

Elsewhere, the Midlands band have launched their ‘Exorcism Project’. Johnny Foreigner are set to send out 20 signature-style plush toys ghosts, orders of which hit the limit in less than 20 minutes.

Johnny Foreigner are set to release their new EP in October.
