Birmingham’s finest bunch of hyperactive indie rockers Johnny Foreigner are set to release their second album later this year.
Johnny Foreigner first burst onto the music scene with some limited edition singles and a live show that had tongues wagging up and down the nation. Making Los Campesinos! look like the reserved young individuals we always suspected them to be, the group stormed toilet venues across Britain winning hearts and minds in the process.
Last year saw the band work their socks off with two headline tours and support slots with (deep breath) Idlewild, Los Campesinos, Young Knives, Blood Red Shoes, The Subways, Forward Russia and the Futureheads. It seems that all that hard work hasn’t prevented the band from writing their new album, which is due to be released later this year.
Recording their new album with Alex Newport at the helm, Johnny Foreigner benefited from the producer’s years of experience including stints with At The Drive In and Death Cab For Cutie. The first taste fans will get of the new, beefed up, Johnny Foreigner studio experience is the forthcoming single ‘Feels Like Summer’.
As if that wasn’t enough to keep them occupied Johnny Foreigner are set to head out on tour yet again, with support from groups including Calories, Tubelord and the divine Copy Haho.
