Johnny Depp could be set to step behind the camera to direct the new video by much loved British group Babybird.
Babybird are a vehicle for Stephen Jones, a Sheffield based songwriter with a unique view on the world. Perhaps best known for their perennially mis-understood hit ‘You’re Gorgeous’ the band are set to return with a new album later this year.
After a short break the band returned with the 2006 album ‘Between My Ears There Is Nothing But Music’ with Babybird recording material for a follow up this year.
Due for release in November the album will be trailed by a new single. In a bizarre twist however it seems that Babybird have been calling on friends in high places.
‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star Johnny Depp was photographed by paparazzi filming at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire over two days this week. Internet blog ‘I’m Not Obsessed’ reports that the actor was shooting the new video for Babybird.
According to reports the forthcoming video features Stephen Jones working alongside award winning actor Stephen Graham – best known for his roles in ‘This Is England’ and ‘The Damned United’.
In addition to this Graham has appeared in several videos with Arctic Monkeys, including acclaimed short film ‘Scummy Man’.
Of course, Johnny Depp has a long history of working in the music industry. The star recorded a solo album, and also played slide guitar on the Oasis album ‘Be Here Now’.
It is not known when the new video will be released.
