John Grant Shares ‘All That School For Nothing’

He originally wrote it for Blondie...

John Grant has shared new single ‘All That School For Nothing’.

The songwriter’s new album ‘The Art Of The Lie’ is out on June 14th, with a subtle Trump dig in the title. Constructed with producer Ivor Guest, its sonic opulence pushed the artist in several fresh directions.

Out now, new single ‘All That School For Nothing’ is a barbed yet pleasingly pop-centric return. Originally penned for Blondie, there’s a sense of the new wave legends’ directness at work in his forceful vocal, and the potent arrangement.

Shared alongside news of a flurry of in-store performance, John Grant has rarely been so pointed, vivid, and direct. He comments…

“This is a song I wrote for Blondie, but they didn’t want it, so I decided to reclaim it for myself. It was much more electronic at first but when I sang it, it became clear that it was much more of a Cameo or Whodini vibe, which I’m all for!”
