Break out the galois and black turtle necks – moody French duo John And Jehn are set to release new single ‘Oh My Love’ on April 6th.
Dressed in black, John And Jehn cast an imposing shadow across the music scene with their debut album last year. Self titled, it was a brooding mixture of the Velvet Underground and Serge Gainsbourg and won plaudits with its dark, dramatic songwriting.
ClashMusic brought the album to you first with an exclusive stream, but since then the duo have been largely silent. Retreating to rural France, John And Jehn began soaking up music from the late 70s and early 80s working on a new direction for their music.
Now the first fruits of their labour are set to emerge. New single ‘Oh My Love’ is a stunning mixture of Grace Jones and lo fi Gallic charm, and will come backed with the club friendly beat mashing of ‘Looking For You’.
John And Jehn will return to their native Paris soon to begin work on their second album, with no UK dates on the horizon until the LP is complete.
