Jóhann Jóhannsson’s Debut Album To Be Re-Issued

With a flurry of new remixes...

Jóhann Jóhannsson's debut album 'Englabörn' is set to be re-issued later this month.

The Icelandic composer sadly died last month, leaving behind him a small but nigh-on perfect catalogue.

Renowned for his soundtrack work, Jóhann Jóhannsson's solo releases explore different realms, fusing modern classical ideas with electronics and more.

Debut album 'Englabörn' was initially released through Touch in 2002, before 4AD stepped in for a wider release in 2007.

The Icelandic artist had been working on a full re-issue, and the project was completed shortly before his death.

'Englabörn & Variations' will feature the original material cast in several 'variations' – remixes and other re-workings – casting the music in a fresh light.

'Englabörn & Variations' is set to be released on March 23rd via Deutsche Grammophon.
