Viral duo Joey Valence & Brae have unleashed new single ‘GUMDROP’.
The pair first found success with 2021’s outrageous single ‘Crank It Up’, recontextualising that boom bap sound from a fresh perspective. Their DIY driven ‘PUNK TACTICS’ album lands on September 8th, and a series of enormous live shows are planned.
Set to play the Garage in London on August 24th, the pair have just dropped something new. Heavy duty single ‘GUMDROP’ is an exuberant dose of punk-fuelled rap bedlam, a rule-breaking concoction that refuses to be hemmed in.
Already an anthem with fans, it has been embraced as an alt hymn by their rabid online following. Joey comments…
“we started playing ‘GUMDROP’ at our shows and on Discord, and the feedback was immediate (especially from our female and LGBTQ+ fans, who would thank us for ‘a girly pop’ moment). So we included it, for them and also for those, like the song, that maybe don’t feel like a perfect fit, but that doesn’t mean they don’t belong.”
