Joey Maxwell’s ‘hollowing out’ Starts A New Chapter

It battles back against self-doubt...

Joey Maxwell returns with new single ‘hollowing out’.

The South London all-rounder merges raw indie pop aspects with a fondness for club culture, melding together echoes of his beloved UKG in the process. A force to be reckoned with, he’s shared a string of excellent singles, blurring ear-worm melodies with idiosyncratic production.

Out now, new single ‘hollowing out’ finds Joey Maxwell opening a fresh chapter. A bright return, the surface shimmer masks a lyric that dissects self-doubt, and attempts to find a path through it all.

A song about life, and life’s difficulties, ‘hollowing out’ reminds us all to stay true to ourselves. Joey Maxwell comments…

“‘hollowing out’ is about letting the doubt take hold of you. Those thoughts of self-rejection and invalidation that eat away at you from the inside out. As the song progresses it finds ways to live with those feelings, they are thoughts that most of us have to live with everyday but it’s about searching for those coping mechanisms.”

Tune in now.
