Faroese shit-punk voyagers Joe & The Shitboys have released a new album.
The band are a fantastic live prospect, blending surreal humour, politics, mental drumming, and a frontman who spends more time in the crowd than, well, the crowd do.
Third album ‘THE RESON FOR HARDCORE VIBES III‘ is out now, and it’s a delight: in-and-out in just over 10 minutes, it packs 10 songs into the streaming space most artists use for a single track.
But who cares about the algorithm when your band is called Joe & The Shitboys…?
Highlights on the record include ‘FUCK EVERYBODY’, ‘LEGALIZE EVERYTHING’, ‘EAT ASS YOU FUCKING COWARDS’, ‘MR. NOBODY’, ‘IF YOU WANNA BE A CUCK I’LL BE YOUR BULL’ and more.
Set to gain an ultra-limited seven inch vinyl pressing, the release will be followed by a mammoth tour of the Faroe Islands, continental Europe, and of course the UK.
Frontman Joe comments…
“Most of the songs on this album are about self-realisation, normalisation, and not giving a fuck about the haters; either living your best life or letting others live their best life. It’s our most hi-fi album to date, as we went to an actual studio this time, didn’t mix it ourselves, and it’s not completely recorded live. Proper sell out shit. We also got a new member whom we wanted to include on the album, but we didn’t want to re-record anything, so we had him play a different instrument on each of the 10 tracks. He plays a recorder on ‘IF YOU WANNA BE A CUCK I’LL BE YOUR BULL’.”
