Joe Goddard Announces New Solo Album ‘Harmonics’

It's out on July 12th...

Joe Godard has laid out plans for new album ‘Harmonics’.

The producer is forever busy – a key part of Hot Chip, his solo work includes a plethora of remixes and collaborations. Returning to his solo guise, Joe Goddard will release a new album this summer, featuring a raft of guests.

Out on July 12th, new album ‘Harmonics’ features Jungle’s Tom McFarland, Alabaster DePlume, Ibibio Sound Machine and Hot Chip cohort Alexis Taylor and Al Doyle.

Joe Goddard wanted the sessions to be free-flowing, commenting: “This idea of trying to divorce your conscious mind from the music-making process – not trying to force meaning on the music or your collaborators, allowing that process to be very empathetic.”

New single ‘Moments Die’ is out now – dulcet electronics topped off with a divine vocal from Barrie, it taps into the more wistful aspects of Joe Goddard’s art.

He comments…

“My new single ‘Moments Die’ features a beautiful vocal contribution from my friend Barrie which for me is a highlight of my forthcoming album. My words were inspired by John Berger’s book ‘And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief as Photos’.”

Nathan Castiel directs the hypnotic video, which flits between New York and Hastings. Tune in now.
