Jockstrap have released a new single featuring Ian Starr called ‘Red Eye’.
The track carries as explosive energy, one that speeds down a motorway on a sugar rush. Sung by
Ian Starr, the hyper-pop track has an amusing mash-up of lyrics, feeling like a surge of the more experimental aspects of their Mercury Prize shortlisted debut album ‘I Love You Jennifer B’.
Arriving alongside the announcement of their forthcoming album ‘I<3UQTINVU’, the duo have created a fully remixed version of their 2022 project, set to release on November 3rd.
The single is paired with a music video, filmed by Jockstrap’s Georgia Ellery, Ian Starr and Liam Noonan at Connect festival. With the jumping camera angles and fisheye lens, they perfectly encapsulate the dizzy, volatile nature of the song,
Speaking on the track, Ian Starr comments: “I love making songs that push the limits of my vocality and energy, and I went all-out in efforts to craft the craziest performance possible on ‘Red Eye’. Whenever I write a song, I always have the live audience in mind; performing this at my first festival with Jockstrap made me feel really great about the result!”
Tune in now.
