With Simon Amstell on directing duties…

Anyone who follows Jme on Twitter will know about his dedication to veganism. The grime MC has been known to post religiously about vegan cheese and the best places to eat that eschew the animal product.

So it makes complete sense for him to play himself in a new film that marks Simon Amstell’s directorial debut. Titled Carnage: Swallowing The Past, it’s set in a fictional 2067 where the entire planet is vegan and is horrified about its animal-devouring past, and will feature TV personalities Kirsty Wark, Lorraine Kelly and Feltz.

Also set to star in the movie, according to the BBC, are Martin Freeman, Joanna Lumley, Dame Eileen Atkins, Lindsay Duncan, Alex Lawther, Gemma Jones, Linda Basset, Marwan Rizwan, and John Macmillan.

Amstell said: “I have written and directed a film about veganism. I’m sorry.”

Keep your eyes peeled in Spring, when it’s set to hit BBC iPlayer.
