American electronic artist Jlin has announced plans for new album 'Black Origami'.
The producer's 2015 debut 'Dark Energy' was a stunning introduction, matching footwork levels of breakbeat velocity to a myriad of fresh ideas.
Follow up 'Black Origami' drops this May, and it features everyone from William Basinski and Holly Herndon. Jlin explains:
"The simple definition of origami is the art of folding and constructing paper into a beautiful, yet complex design. Composing music for me is like origami, only I’m replacing paper with sound. I chose to title the album 'Black Origami' because like 'Dark Energy' I still create from the beauty of darkness and blackness."
The album is also said to contains traces of her collaborations with choreographer and dancer Avril Stormy Unger - who performed with Jlin at 2015's Unsound festival.
'Black Origami' will be released on May 19th.
