A fan’s campaign to have rock heroes Led Zeppelin honored on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame has floundered after receiving a snub from the group’s guitarist Jimmy Page.
Led Zeppelin split in 1980 after the death of their incredible drummer John Bonham. The group’s legacy looms large however, and a one off re-union last year has prompted continual rumors about a full scale tour.
The band are the subject of a campaign to have them honored on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Rocky Dickerson conceived the idea after flying over from California to see the rock legends perform at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in December last year.
In order to process the nomination he needs written approval from both band and management – but guitarist Jimmy Page has urged him not to bother.
According to Yahoo News the guitarist’s spokesman sent Dickerson a statement saying the following:
“He (Page) has asked me to thank you for this interest but he does not feel that this is something that he can endorse.”
