Jessie Reyez Plans New Album ‘Paid In Memories’

New single 'Psilocybin & Daisies' is out now...

Jessie Reyez will release new album ‘Paid In Memories’ on March 28th.

The singer recently signalled her return, teasing a forward step on social media. Out on March 28th, ‘Paid In Memories’ promises to be an expansive gesture, with guests on the record including Ari Lennox, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Miguel.

New single ‘Psilocybin & Daisies’ is out now, and it fuses her intoxicating R&B vision with some of her guitar-based roots. An explicit telling of her truth, the song utilises an interpolation of Smashing Pumpkins’ all-timer ‘1979’.

Penned by Jessie and produced alongside SCUM and Warren ‘Oak’ Felder’, Smashing Pumpkins’ very own Billy Corgan is a huge fan of the results, commenting: “I’m very honoured and touched that Jessie would choose to build something so new and beautiful from the bones of one of my songs. She’s so incredibly talented, and has that effortless, honest quality in the voice that I’d admire in the best singers,”

A live clip shot by Jon Primo is out now, with Jessie adding:

Some music is indisputably timeless. To be able to cheat and get an ingredient from a timeless song and contribute it to my own is an industry hack that I’d be dumb not to use. Thanks to Billy for blessing me. Thanks to The Smashing Pumpkins. Thanks to mushrooms. And thanks to me.”

Tune in now.
