Jenny Alien Marks Her Return With ‘Heart Attack’

A rebellious follow-up to debut LP, 'Scumbag Rock$tar'

Jenny Alien is making a bold return with latest offering ‘Heart Attack.’

Following this year’s debut LP ‘Scumbag Rock$star,’ the singer, songwriter and producer is now venturing into themes of youth, anarchy and self-expression.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Charli XCX and Sophie Cates, ‘Heart Attack’ finds a balance between hyper-pop and the more accessible elements of the mainstream. Released alongside a music video shot by Bryson Howe, the director depicts Jenny through cyber-world aesthetics and quirky backdrops whilst aligning with the artist’s DIY-approach.

The New York-based, Chicago-raised riser has been sampling her music across the globe, recently spending time amongst London’s indie-rock crowd. Pushing her sound into new and unexpected directions, Jenny Alien’s strengths lie onstage, building a performance that is reminiscent of pop-centric grunge.

Now placing her production into the experienced hands of duo Bluto, ‘Heart Attack’ offers Jenny Alien an experimental and collaborative canvas.

She comments: “It was an interesting process writing this revenge, angsty-type love/pop song with others because it allowed me to step outside myself and write something really bashful and just fun.”
