Last year NAO spring a surprise on Jaz Karis.
The London vocalist was relatively unknown, playing her first ever headline show - so NAO went down to show support.
The two met afterwards, with NAO promptly asking Jaz to release a single on her Little Tokyo Recordings imprint, named after a real-life whiskey bar.
Said single is out now, and 'Doubt My Love' is a wonderful introduction, an effortlessly soulful confection that feels completely modern.
There's a London twist as well, that slight grit in the vocal allied to her smooth approach, something that makes Jaz Karis totally distinct.
“I wrote this song after a break up,” she explains. “I started seeing value in myself and even though I missed the other person dearly, I knew everything would be fine because I had myself… I’m still in shock that one of my musical heroes wants to help me develop my music and release my track via her label.”
Tune in now.
