Rapper wants to work with Liam Gallagher

Globally renowned rapper Jay-Z has claimed that he would love to work with Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.

Hip hop and rock don't tend to mix. For every 'Walk This Way' there is an abysmal rap-metal track, linking terrible rhymes with cheese-string guitars.

However if anyone can blend the two genres it's Jay-Z. Having once recorded a hit album with Linkin Park the hip hop icon has now claimed that he would love to work with Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.

The rapper revealed recently that he would love to work with Liam, after Snoop Dogg claimed that he would be interested in signing Noel Gallagher to Priority Records.

Speaking to British tabloid The Sun the rapper claimed that "I hear Snoop Dogg might be teaming up with Noel. If that's the case then I would love to work with Liam."

"Their (Oasis') music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well."

Jay-Z claimed that Liam Gallagher should get in touch, as he's convinced the pair could craft "something brilliant" together.

"When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas you come up with something brilliant fairly easily," he said. "I don't know what he is up to now but he can give me a call."

Of course, Jay-Z has a prior history with Oasis. His headline appearance at Glastonbury in 2008 provoked a storm of controversy, with Noel Gallagher claiming that he was the wrong choice.

The hip hop star responded by performing a funked up version of 'Wonderwall' during his set.
