American rap megastar Jay-Z is set to continue his assault on the UK with a special show at Alexandra Palace.
Jay-Z is entertainment royalty in the United States. Through a series of stunning albums the rapper has turned the Billboard charts into a home from home, scoring a series of massive hit singles.
However success in the UK has tended to allude him. Sure, Jay-Z has scored hit singles in the past but popularity on the scale he enjoys in the United States has been slow to arrive.
Now signed media empire Live Nation Jay-Z has begun a huge assault on the UK. His spectacular new album ‘The Blueprint 3’ currently sits in the Top Ten, buoyed by support slots on Coldplay’s recent tour.
Over on the singles chart Jay-Z is dominating the Top Ten with two tracks in the countdown. ‘Run This Town’ sits at number eight, with a contribution from R&B princess Rihanna propelling its liquid beats.
However Jay-Z is his own competition, with the Alicia Keys aided track ‘Empire State Of Mind’ now sitting at number two.
With a solo show at London’s Roundhouse venue already confirmed, Jay-Z is due to add to this with a special one off performance at Alexandra Palace. Taking place on November 4th, support for the show has not yet been announced.
Tickets for Jay-Z’s show at Alexandra Palace will go on sale from 9am this Friday (October 9th).
