Kaiser Chiefs have received an unusual seal of approval – US rapper Jay-Z is apparently a big fan of their new album ‘Off With Their Heads’, it has emerged.
The band learned of the news from producer Mark Ronson. The well-heeled Ronson played the album to the rapper, who apparently liked what he heard. In a new interview Ricky Wilson revealed that “Mark (Ronson) played Jay-Z the album because he was on tour with him at some point. We got the Jay-Z seal of approval which was nice,” to which Wilson added: “It was a coliseum-style thumps up.”
Drummer Nick Hodgson revealed that the two parties paths had actually crossed. “We met him actually. Me and Peanut met him when we were mixing. We’ve got certain Jay-Z connections. Mark is a magnet and a connector.”
Kaiser Chiefs release new album ‘Off With Their Heads’ on October 20th.
