"We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same..."
Jay Z

The footage may have been grainy, but a clip of Solange attacking Jay Z while Beyonce looks on has caused a true sensation.

One of the year's most dissected celebrity incidents, it sparked all manner of speculation of what exactly sparked the row. Last night (May 14th) the trio issued a joint statement claiming to have put the incident behind them.

Handed to Associated Press, it said: "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred".

Referring to the attack as "an unfortunate incident" the statement asserts: "But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

"At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

Meanwhile, officials at the Standard Hotel in New York have begun proceedings to uncover how the footage was leaked to the press.
