Jay-Z Appears In Obama Clip

Rapper shows support

Jay-Z has appeared in a new TV advertisement showing his support for President Barack Obama.

Barack Obama swept into power four years ago, backed by numerous globally recognised stars. Bruce Springsteen famously accompanied the politician on the campaign trail, with Jay-Z boasting about his connections to the President.

With another Presidential campaign swinging round, Jay-Z has not shied away from the debate. Recently hosting a $40,000 per ticket fundraiser at his own 40/40 Club, Jay-Z now appears in a new clip titled 'The Power Of Our Voice'.

Jay-Z says: "When the president got in office initially, what he represented to a nation of kids was hope. The hope of people all across the country, who would look and see themselves and know the possibilities."

Meanwhile, Barack Obama recently waded into the row between X Factor judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. Speaking with radio host Michael Yo (via TMZ) the President said: "I think that they are going to be able to sort it out… I am confident. I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."
