Jay Z has announced that his new single, ‘Run This Town’, will be released on August 31st, on Roc Nation. Being the biggest name in the rap game has its advantages, and being able to call on fellow superstars Rihanna and Kanye West to collaborate with him shows that Jay’s dominance is showing no signs of slowing down.
The single is the first from the album ‘The Blueprint 3’, which will be out in the UK on Sept 14th. The album comes out in the USA on September 11th, exactly eight years since the first Blueprint album, and also marks the anniversary of the September 11th bombings.
“The trilogy has come full circle”, says Jay Z. “Blueprint encompasses the essence of those that influenced me. It pays homage to the soul music our parents played.” He goes on to say, “Musically the album recognises that that there is a generation of us that are influencing the next artists. The album lays the groundwork for what can happen next”.
Jay Z will play a string of live dates with Coldplay in September, starting in Manchester, followed by Glasgow and Wembley Stadium, London.
