Singer To Work With Wes Anderson

Former Pulp mainman turned solo star Jarvis Cocker is set to enter the world of cinematic soundtracks when he teams up with Wes Anderson for the director’s new project.

Reports suggest that the singer has written songs due to be used in the new Wes Anderson film – an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s classic “The Fantastic Mr. Fox”. Jarvis, surely a contender for the title of “Greatest Living Englishman”, has revealed to Time Out Chicago that “I’ve written three, four songs, and some of that might become bits of the score.”

The singer split Pulp in 2002 and released his first solo LP in 2006. Titled “Jarvis” it was a typically tuneful and acerbic take on British life. More recently, he curated last year’s Meltdown festival and sang a cover of Level 42’s “Temptation” with Beth Ditto.

There is no release date set for Wes Anderson adaptation of “The Fantastic Mr. Fox”.
