Former Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker is set to make a speech at this year’s In The City music conference on October 7th, it has been announced.
The singer will make a speech at the Midlands Hotel at the Manchester event. Titled “Saying The Unsayable” it will be an exploration of lyrics by musicians Cocker admires as well as an analysis of his own work.
The music conference In The City was set up by the late, great Tony Wilson and his partner Yvette Livesey. This year’s will be one of the biggest to date, and will include an incredible night of live music curated by those nice people at Clash Magazine.
As well as an appearance by Jarvis Cocker, the conference will be hosted by former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham. The reclusive mogul is breaking his South American exile to host the conference, and his rare public appearance will no doubt be just one of many highlights.
In The City kicks off on October 5th.
