Japanese Breakfast, Machine Gun Kelly’s “Feud Of The Year” Is Kind Of Adorable

“I’ve never met Machine Gun Kelly. He seems like a fine person...”

Japanese Breakfast and Machine Gun Kelly are laughing off their "feud of the year…"

Machine Gun Kelly unveiled the artwork for his new album 'Mainstream Sellout' yesterday – March 14th – with some noting a partial resemblance to one of last year's finest full length projects.

Japanese Breakfast's rather fine 'Jubilee' featured tomatoes in the photography, something Machine Gun Kelly echoes.

Rolling Stone wrote an entire article about it, with Japanese Breakfast then laughing off this "feud".

In a cute turnaround, Machine Gun Kelly responded, thanking tomatoes "for introducing me to your album, because I just listened and I really like it…"

Chatting to Pitchfork, Japanese Breakfast said she couldn't see the resemblance between the two photographs, and called the supposed 'feud' "funny".

“I don’t actually think it looks anything like my album cover at all,” she said, “but I think it’s very funny that Rolling Stone put up an article about it just because there’s a circular fruit in the foreground. I mean his is people throwing tomatoes at him, and mine is persimmons peacefully hanging around me, so I think they’re very different concepts.”

“I’ve never met Machine Gun Kelly. He seems like a fine person,” she added. “I can’t imagine having rock beef with anyone, but if I had to choose, it would probably be Machine Gun Kelly.”

Japanese Breakfast plays SXSW this month.
