The members of Jane’s Addiction seem to be making music together – but without frontman Perry Farrell.
The LA rockers have always been – ahem – combustible, but a successful UK tour last year raised hopes that their potent elixir was being channelled in a positive way.
Mere weeks after their packed out show at London venue the Roundhouse, however, Jane’s Addiction came screeching to a halt. A concert in Boston came to a premature finish, when frontman Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro.
In a subsequent Instagram post, the guitarist seemed to intimate that the band had broken up, writing: “I’m gutted that things ended this way.”

Now eagle-eyed fans have noted that bassist Eric Avery, guitarist Dave Navarro, and drummer Stephen Perkins are recording new music… without Perry Farrell.
Eric Avery posted a video on Instagram of him recording a bass part, writing: “Writing some more new lines to some of Stephens drumming. Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025! @stephenperkinsdrummer @davenavarro.”
Stephen Perkins shared the clip, adding: “Love that dark swing.”
The line-up recalls the trio’s fondly remembered Deconstruction project. In fact, all three have reminisced about the sole album they made together in 1994 over the festive period.
“Having revisited it after all these years I believe this record contains some of my favorite recorded playing and interplay between E’s bass and my guitar,” wrote Dave Navarro. “I am very happy this has been rereleased and is available for streaming.”
