...as The xx work on third album

A renowned producer in his own right, Jamie xx has long flirted with the idea of a full artist album.

Now it seems that this idea is close to fruition. Chatting to the FADER, the London based musician explained that he was in the process of mixing his solo debut.

Working at a studio in New York, the producer claims that the album "collects three years' worth of music".

"There's one track where I need to get the vocal on, but I don't know who the vocalist is going to be yet," he said. "I never really listen to lyrics, but I can understand (them) a little bit more when it's spoken word rather than singing. It gets to my head a bit quicker."

Meanwhile, work on the third album by The xx continues. The band recently journeyed to Iceland, before returning to their native London to continue sessions.

"We've got quite a lot of songs that are not finished, but I'm excited about it," the producer explained. "It feels a lot more free than when we were making the last record."

So that's that.

Here's 'Angels'.
