Jamie Lidell Unveils His New Band

London show sold out

Electronic producer turned soul man Jamie Lidell has unveiled his new touring band.

For most acts, live electronica is up there with watching paint dry. Sweaty men hunched over laptops, with perhaps a backdrop, doth not an exciting live show make.

For Jamie Lidell, however, the production is only the start. Live, he truly becomes a performer with his soul man guise coming to the fore. Mixing rasping Stax style horns with frenetic electronica, he is perhaps the most engaging live performer in left field British music.

With his new album ‘Compass’ earning rave reviews, Jamie Lidell is gearing up for a major world tour. Shifting from continent to continent, the singer will stop by London for his sole UK date.

Unveiling a new live band, Jamie Lidell has produced a new video featuring an alternate version of his album track ‘Your Sweet Boom’. A highlight of the album, the video introduces the singer’s all star new line up.

As Jamie Lidell puts it:

New York City, 1968. Oh wait… 2010! A nostalgic glimpse into the now as 70s tech hangs with the laptop, Blazer hang with the bizarre and Lidell gets a buzz on about the future shows with an ALL NEW crew of heavy retro pioneers.”

“Practicing here under the hot lights in a shoddily lit westside cupboard, things are sounding unreal. The soundtrack to this is a lost recording of a new song called “your sweet boom”… never heard before and never to be heard again.
1,2 Zen explosion and we out!”

Jamie Lidell is set to play the following (sold out) London show:

19 London 229
