British producer Jamie Lidell is set to release a new remix EP as his new world tour opens in North America.
Jamie Lidell has a breathtakingly eclectic attitude to music. The producer began life making dissonant electronic music, taking four to the floor techno beats and stretching them until they broke.
Adding some retro soul to the mix, Jamie Lidell emerged as the consummate showman. The producer returned earlier this year with his new album ‘Compass’ which perhaps blends the two as never before.
Hugely eclectic, the album received warm reviews and managed to recall both The Jackson 5 and prime era Warp. No mean feat, with Jamie Lidell recently confirming plans for a new remix EP.
Designed to coincide with his new tour, Jamie Lidell has promised anyone who pre-orders a ticket a free download EP. The producer has handed his material over to some close friends, including Tiga, Micachu and Tuneyards.
The five track EP will be released later this month, with Jamie Lidell streaming one song from the collection. Tuneyard’s take on ‘Compass’ can be heard on the official Warp Records soundcloud page – click HERE to listen.
In addition to this, Jamie Lidell is preparing another ‘Compass’ released remix EP to be released digital in October.
The move comes as Jamie Lidell opens a new world tour. Beginning in the United States the producer will travel to Europe next month, although the British born talent has confirmed only one show in his homeland.
Set to play London’s Koko venue on November 18th, tickets for the show have long since sold out.
Jamie Lidell has confirmed the following show:
