James Murphy has revealed that he has finished working with Arcade Fire on their new album.
Arcade Fire have been almost silent for the past 12 months. The Canadian group have shut up shop, with only those closest to them aware of their true intentions.
Thankfully, fans have James Murphy on hand to keep them informed. The DFA stalwart has been assisting Arcade Fire on their new album, recently informing the NME that it sounded "really fucking epic."
Now the producer has revealed that his work on the new album is complete. Presumably at the mixing stage, James Murphy has been freed of his duties but told Billboard that the recording sessions were remarkably easy.
"Producing is always really hard, and you can never tell who’s going to be easy to get along with and who’s going to be difficult" he said. "So I wasn’t sure what was going to be the case, since there’s a lot of them. I figured, they’re all super talented, do they need another dude there with his opinions? It turned out it was really nice, and everyone was amazingly respectful of one another."
Arcade Fire was widely expected to release their new album later this year.
