James Holden Launches New Album ‘This Is A High Dimensional Space of All Possibilities’

It's out on March 31st...

James Holden will release new album ‘This Is A High Dimensional Space of All Possibilities’ on March 31st.

The maverick producer’s last LP ‘The Animal Spirits’ landed back in 2017. Reconfiguring his sound, James Holden will release the results in March, alongside a show at London’s EartH venue on April 13th.

“I wanted this to be my most open record, uncynical, naive, unguarded, the record teenage me wanted to make,” he comments. “I used to balance my clock-radio on a wardrobe to catch the faint pirate FM signals from the nearest city, dreaming of what raves would be like when I could finally escape and become a New Age traveller.”

Drawing from the energy of those epic, illicit early 90s raves, James Holden reimagines this freedom within his own sonic framework. Mighty new track ‘Contains Multitudes’ is online now, a near 10 minute odyssey of chance, experiment, and electronic daring.

Maintaining a collage-like effect, the producer explains:

“I’d been looking at John Stezaker’s collages, where things collide and it feels like it opens a window into them, thinking a lot about musical approaches to that idea, then the end part of this just appeared in my head as I listened to the loops of the beginning part. The two songs are opposite musics but also completely contained inside one another.”

Tune in now.
