At the time, the cause of death was cited as pneumonia however his daughter LaRhonda Pettit refuses to accept this. Attempting to gain access to the late soul icon’s body, she has now made a shocking new claim.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Pettit claimed that James Brown’s body has been stolen. Placed in a crypt after his death in 2006, it has since been kept at his daughter Deanna’s house in South Carolina.

Now LaRhonda Pettit has alleged that the body has gone missing. “My daddy’s body has disappeared. I have no clue where it was taken, but I need to know where,” Pettit explained.

Continuing, James Brown’s daughter revealed that she is still searching for justice. “I’m convinced his death was suspicious and I want the people responsible brought to justice. The only way to do that is to exhume his body and have an autopsy. I cannot understand why one was never conducted.”

Pettit is one of a number of people who have come forward after James Brown’s death claiming to be his love child. She was not named in the singer’s will.
