James Blake is set to release a brand new 12 inch through Hemlock next month.
Making his name as a inventive young dubstep derived producer, James Blake shocked fans with a new singer-songwriter direction. Releasing his debut album earlier this year, it showcased his delicate voice and tender melodies.
Splitting fans, some argued that James Blake should use a different name for his club tracks than for his torch songs. Highlighting a clear split in the two styles, the producer has now decided to return to the dancefloor.
Preparing a new 12 inch for Hemlock, James Blake is returning to the label where he made his name. Responsible for ‘Air & Lack Thereof’, the imprint will now handle upcoming 12 inch ‘Order’ / ‘Pan’.
Due to be released on July 12th, expect demand for the cuts to go through the roof. Recently completing his first British tour, James Blake has toughened up his live show into something quite magical.
Earning near unanimous acclaim, Blake’s music can now be heard far beyond the bass scene. Representing a return to his roots, the upcoming 12 inch is a much more direct: ‘Order’ has a skippy garage beat while ‘Pan’ uses some tribal rhythms.
Pitchfork is streaming both sides of the new 12 inch, you can listen to them HERE or make do with a rip of ‘Order’ from his Boiler Room mix below…
