Jake Bugg has fallen to number three on this week’s album chart, with Taylor Swift ending his reign at pole position.
In a summer dominated by sporting events, music has often taken a sideline. Jake Bugg, though, had other plans with the Midlands songbird able to release his catchy-as-hell single ‘Lightning Bolt’ at the same time as a certain Usain Bolt was busy breaking records.
Pushed into the limelight, Jake Bugg’s debut album cracked the charts wide open. Strong first week sales sent the teen songwriter to the number one slot, pushing past some globally recognised artists in the process.
Sadly, Jake Bugg’s run at the peak of the charts has proved to be short lived. American songstress Taylor Swift has swept into town, with her new album ‘Red’ topping the countdown.
Jake Bugg falls to number three, just ahead of Lawson and Mumford & Sons. Elsewhere, a rejuvenated Muse push their way to number eight with ‘The 2nd Law’ while Leona Lewis sits at number ten with ‘Glassheart’.
One last time… here’s ‘Lightning Bolt’.
