Former Radio 1 DJ Grooverider has begun a four year sentence for drug possession in a Dubai prison, it has been announced.
The drum and bass legend was arrested at the Dubai airport in November after customs officers found a small quantity of cannabis in his posessions.
Grooverider, real name Raymond Bingham, is set to appeal the four year sentence – the lightest possible the court could have offered under the country’s drug laws.
