Fans of Michael Jackson unable to get to his Los Angeles memorial service can watch the entire ceremony in the O2 Arena.
Michael Jackson announced his O2 Arena residency earlier this year. The singer confirmed that these would represent his farewell to London, giving the event the title ‘This Is It’ amidst enormous media fanfare.
However due to intense public interest the number of concerts the performer intended to give soon crept up. Eventually staring at a mountain of fifty shows, Michael Jackson soon began intense preparation for his performances.
Rehearsing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the singer voiced his concerns over the concerts to fans outside the dance theatre. However Michael Jackson was never able to put those doubts to the test after his sudden death last Thursday (June 25th).
The singer was buried this morning (July 7th) in a private ceremony by his family. A much larger ceremony is set to take place later today in the Staples Center which will allow fans to show their appreciation for the singer.
Due to be attended by a host of stars, the ceremony will be a celebration of Michael Jackson’s life and career. Due to be shown on television around the world, Jackson’s fans will be able to watch the occasion in the O2 Arena.
The scene of perhaps his most audacious move in a decade, no tickets are required for the event with entry to the O2 Arena’s Peninsula Square being free to all who wish to watch the ceremony. Coverage starts at 5.30pm.
Michael Jackson postponed the first of his O2 Arena residency dates, the re-scheduled shows were due to begin tomorrow (July 8th).
