Pop icon Michael Jackson’s death certificate has been amended to reflect new evidence which suggests he could have been the victim of a homicide.
It was one of the ‘where were you?’ moments of our time. Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in Los Angeles on June 25th, dying in hospital shortly after.
Robbing the world of an icon on the verge of a comeback, Michael Jackson’s death has left a huge hole in the hearts of his family. Yet almost from the moment he was confirmed dead Jackson’s family have claimed foul play was involved in his death.
Demanding an independent autopsy, the family’s fears were validated when the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office presented their findings. In a new report the office claimed that the singer died as a result of an injection of a huge amount of prescription drugs.
Immediately raising the question of homicide, the singer’s death certificate has now been altered to reflect the cause of death. The document has been changed to specify that his death was caused by “injection by another”.
Meanwhile, the singer is expected to be buried shortly in a private ceremony in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in California. Michael Jackson had been due to be buried on his 51st birthday, but the ceremony was pushed back.
Instead, fans across the world celebrated his birthday in some style with an enormous dance routine in Mexico City breaking the record for the most amount of people doing the ‘Thriller’ dance at one time.
Meanwhile, a hoax video has appeared online apparently showing Michael Jackson getting out of the coroner’s van. German broadcaster RTL posted the footage on YouTube and received 880,000 hits in one day.
A spokesperson for the network claimed it had been an experiment, reports the BBC. “We wanted to show how easily users can be manipulated on the internet with hoax videos,” she said.
“Therefore, we created this video of Michael Jackson being alive, even though everybody knows by now that he is dead – and the response was breathtaking.”
