Jack White Responds To Restraining Order

Requests are "simply designed to malign him"

Jack White has responded to former wife Karen Elson's decision to take out a restraining order against him.

Divorcing in 2011, Karen Elson and Jack White vowed to stay in good terms. Since then, the pair had largely done just that, with both emphasising the amicable, friendly way in which the marriage was ended.

Now, though, their relationship appears to have soured. Karen Elson filed a restraining order against the guitarist last week, alleging that he had behaved in "an inappropriate and aggressive manner".

The English born model also stated that White had a violent temper, and that she "fears for her and the children's safety as a result of this harassment".

Now Jack White has hit back. In a counter motion filed by his lawyer in Davidson County Court in Nashville yesterday (August 2nd), the guitarist said: "The reason for filing this response is that Mr White does not want to be portrayed as something he is not, violent towards his wife and children". Elson's request was Jack White undergo psychiatric evaluation was dismissed as "inflammatory… disingenuous, fraudulent and retaliatory and simply designed to malign him in the public record or to gain an upper hand in this litigation."

Karen Elson and Jack White are set to take part in a hearing on August 29th over a separate dispute involving their two children.
