Detroit guitar slinger Jack White has added to Kanye West’s woes by mocking the rapper’s recent awards ceremony outburst.
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Invade the stage at a high profile awards ceremony, claim Beyonce should have won and the world is most definitely laughing at you.
Kanye West’s recent stage invasion at the MTV Video Music Awards was met with no small degree of fury from long suffering fans. The third such stage invasion in the rapper’s short career, it has also been met with a tidal wave of mockery.
Apologising for his actions several times, Kanye West couldn’t placate President Barack Obama who labelled the rapper a “jackass” in a recent off the cuff remark.
Las Vegas group The Killers joined the chorus of laughter in a recent show in the United States. The band were interrupted by comedian Jimmy Kimmell who said “I just want to say that the Psychedelic Furs did one of the greatest songs of all time”.
Where upon the Psychedelic Furs entered from the side of the stage to jam on ‘Pretty In Pink’ with The Killers.
Now Jack White has poked fun at Kanye West. Attending a screening of the new White Stripes’ documentary ‘Under The Great Northern Lights’ director Emmett Malloy began answering a question from a fan about the use of Orson Welles’ footage in the film.
White then grabbed the microphone, saying “I’m gonna let you finish, I’m gonna let you finish, but Orson Welles did one of the greatest films of all time!”
Leaving the audience cheering, Malloy also cracked up at the joke.
‘Under The Great Northern Lights’ is due to be released later this year. Watch the incident below…
