Jack White’s new album ‘Blunderbuss’ has raced to the top of the British charts, beating nearest rival Adele.
In the end, it’s been a remarkably smooth transition. Jack White has performed in various groups, but took the decision last year to head out under his own name.
Recorded at the Third Man studio in Nashville, ‘Blunderbuss’ is a typically electric re-invention. Released to widespread acclaim – not least from ClashMusic – the album delighted fans.
Launching the full length with a show at London venue HMV Forum, Jack White delivered an impeccable performance. Setting up a memorable week for the guitarist, ‘Blunderbuss’ has now managed to push its way to number one.
Taking control of the top spot on the mid-week countdown, Jack White faced strong competition from Adele and Lana Del Rey. In the end, though, the guitarist held firm with ‘Blunderbuss’ claiming another number one.
Adele made do with second place, while Lana Del Rey’s debut album ‘Born To Die’ rested at number three. Rufus Wainwright hits number five with his new album ‘Out Of The Game’ with Alabama Shakes rising to sixth place.
