Jack White For Smoke Fairies

New single due

Jack White is set to make a guest appearance on the forthcoming single by British duo Smoke Fairies.

In life you have to grab any opportunity that comes your way. Raucous duo Smoke Fairies knew this when they happened to spot that Jack White was drinking in the same Hoxton Bar as they were.

Still coasting from the release of their ‘Frozen Heart’ EP earlier in the year the duo persuaded the DJ to spin one of their track. Sidling over to Jack White the pair then left a CD together with a fresh whiskey for the Nashville based musician.

Impressed, Jack White invited Smoke Fairies to support The Dead Weather at their first ever London show. The guitarist even took the time to introduce the band onstage to fans, and later spoke to the duo about a possible single.

Snapped up by Jack White’s own label Third Man the band are now due to release a dream-come-true single. Produced by the guitarist himself, Smoke Fairies have chosen two bewitching songs to introduce their talents to the world.

‘Gastown’ and ‘River Song’ are set to be released as a limited edition seven inch later this month, with Smoke Fairies already organising another tour. Toasting their collaboration with Jack White the pair are due to support Richard Hawley with their evocative blues / folk styles set to be coming to a venue near you.

Of course, for Jack White this is all in a day’s work. The producer is set to man the controls for a new album by rockabilly icon Wanda Jackson.

Smoke Fairies are due to release their single ‘Gastown’ / ‘River Song’.
