Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey are arranging a birthday spectacular – and you could be joining in as part of a new competition.
Born in the tiny Tennessee town of Lynchburg, Jasper Newton Daniel (Jack for short) has always had a musical association. Mr Jack Daniel himself decided that the townspeople and workers needed to relax, so he formed the Silver Cornet Band.
To celebrate the birthday of their founder, the people at Jack Daniel’s have decided to host a one off show in their hometown. A host of soul greats will form the New Silver Cornet Band, while guest artists include Plan B, underground rapper K Flay and Warpaint duo Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman.
Taking place later this year, the show is bound to be a pretty spectacular affair – and you could be there!
ClashMusic and the Orange Dot Gallery have teamed up with Jack Daniel’s to launch a new competition. Looking back to the golden era of Americana, Jack Daniel’s recent unveiled a new design inspired by some good old fashioned painted wall adverts.
In keeping with this tradition, the folks at JD are looking to see what you can find on your travels.
Themed around ‘Found Art’ the competition simply asks you to snap something memorable and send it in via Hipstamatic. A shortlist of entries will be drawn up, with the Hipstamatic community deciding which photos will be hosted in an exhibition at the Orange Dot Gallery.
The top five voted photos will be included, with each entry receiving a Jack Daniel’s branded Wowee – a portable speaker with amazing sound that plugs into your iPhone (or any other device with a mini-jack headphone socket).
Here’s a tip: make sure to take your photos on the highest-quality setting, as shortlisted images will be printed up for the Orange Dot Gallery show.
Finally – after much deliberation – one grand-prize winning photo will be chosen. The photographer and three mates will be flown out to Tennessee for this one-time-only show. The prize includes return flights from the UK, two nights accommodation in Nashville, a tour of the distillery and Lynchburg and tickets to the show.
Taking place in front of an intimate audience of just 250 people at Barbeque Hill, part of the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, this is a truly unique event.
