Manchester risers Isla Rico have shared new single ‘Wavelength’ in full.
The trio work closely together, and this easy-going chemistry fuelled their debut EP ‘Eternal Optimist’. Surging melodies and summer-fresh energy, the EP clocked up more than 100,000 streams – a pretty incredible result for this deeply independent group.
Since then, Isla Rico have doubled down – working with alacrity, they’ve hit the studio with renowned producer Andy Gannon to work on something new.
Out now, new single ‘Wavelength’ captures a group on the rise, with Isla Rico playing to their strengths. Wistful melodic charm set to some powerful musical interplay, the trio aim to share something positive with the world – and it’s much-needed right now.
A dose of sunshine, ‘Wavelength’ finds Isla Rica reaching fresh heights. The trio comment…
Recording ‘Wavelength’ started out how most of our tracks do, cosied up in Andy Gannon’s Manchester studio throwing ideas at the wall. We didn’t know when Cal wrote this song and launched the idea out at us all it would evolve into exactly what we needed! As the song came more and more to life we realised we had something that not only perfectly encapsulated and emoted the band’s ‘carefree good times’ philosophy and message, but also something that musically that classic and timeless, as well as striking all the indie-pop tones that make it equally fresh and current.
We felt it was almost our ‘dancing in the moonlight’ by pure accident! Wavelength is by far our favourite track to date from us and we can’t wait to launch it into the world and spread the positive mindset message!
Tune in now.
