Ishmael Ensemble will release new album 'A State Of Flow' on May 3rd.
The Bristol based project completed a trilogy of releases last year, with Severn Songs opening conversations between jazz and the more left field elements of club culture.
Full album 'A State Of Flow' builds on this, with leader Pete Cunningham assembling a stellar cast that emphasises the diverse, challenging nature of British jazz right now.
New song 'Lapwing' is online right now, a propulsive percussive work out driven by those low end textures and lashings of electric piano.
Equally at home in the jazz world or an after hours party, 'Lapwing' once again references the natural world, a prevailing part of Ishmael Ensemble's aesthetic.
Tune in now.
