Kanye West was once again at the centre of attention at the MTV VMAs – this time for the right reasons.
The rapper picked up the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and was presented the gong by none other than Taylor Swift.
Calling him her "friend" the pop icon added: "I'mma let you finish, but Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of all time!"
In true Yeezy style Kanye delivered a phenomenal, intense 13 minute speech which concluded with the rapper announcing his intention to run for President in 2020.
The speech concludes: "If my grandfather was here right now he would not let me back down! I don’t know I’m fittin’ to lose after this. It don’t matter though, cuz it ain’t about me. It’s about ideas, bro. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."
Astonishing.
