Iron Maiden Singer To Launch Airline?

Bruce Dickinson plans ahead...

Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson could launch his own airline after the collapse of Astraeus Airlines.

Everyone needs a hobby. Some people collect stamps, others go fishing while some just like to head to the gym after a hard day’s work. When Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson locks the rehearsal studio, he likes to soar up into the skies.

A working pilot, Bruce Dickinson was recently employed by Icelandic firm Astraeus Airlines. Sadly, though, the airline recently went under with the metal icon amongst those who lost their jobs.

Never one to let a knockback get him down, Bruce Dickinson is now planning to launch his own airline. The singer acted as the pilot on one of Astraeus Airlines final flights, and now wants to own his own firm.

Speaking to Blabbermouth, Dickinson said he wanted to “save Astraeus, or at least create a new business with new jobs for my friends and former colleagues at Astraeus”.

Continuing, the frontman stated that he is part of a conglomerate aiming to salvage the airline. “I’m amused that the less well informed seem to be portraying me as having to resort to busking on the streets following the closure of Astraeus. The more astute members of my circle are aware there’s rather more going on in my world” he said.

“I’m already working on a plan to try to save Astraeus, or at least create a new business with new jobs for my friends and former colleagues at Astraeus. This is a serious plan involving people who are very good at their jobs.”

Bruce Dickinson revealed that the plan could lead to the creation of some 1500 jobs, with the Iron Maiden singer returning as a pilot. “I will be back at the controls of a commercial airliner before I am very much older — but I may also be at the controls of the company that operates that airliner, and others like it”.

Iron Maiden recently completed a world tour, with Bruce Dickinson spending some of the time working as the band’s pilot.
