Introducing… Throwing Snow

'Too Polite' due in December

Throwing Snow is set to release his new EP ‘Too Polite’ through Local Action this December.

The maelstrom of UK electronic music keeps turning, twisting, refusing to be pinned down by any specific label. Take Throwing Snow: the London based producer is always moving, one day making folk music and the next make full on dubstep.

Releasing a series of club plates this year, Throwing Snow recently hooked up with Augustus Ghost to work on new material. The pair are looking to release an album on essential Bristol label Black Acre, but it seems that Throwing Snow will break cover with a solo EP before that happens.

The producer has prepared a three track release for Local Action, with ‘Too Polite’ managing to cover a few of his obsessions. Throwing Snow is joined by August Ghost for ‘Pyre’ which seems to be gently smothered in bass textures.

‘Equuleus’ is a rolling, garage influenced cut that has a sparse edge reminiscent of R&S signing Pariah or even Hessle Audio founder Pangaea. Finally, the title cut ‘Too Polite’ has an aggressive, up front energy that is informed by the legacy of Jungle and Hardcore.

Local Action are toasting a big year, with initial copies of ‘Too Polite’ set to be shipped with a CD-R label compilation, featuring 100% unreleased material from T. Williams, Contakt, Laurel Halo, Throwing Snow, Damu, Jacques Greene and more.
